The Canadian government has unveiled the specifics of the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) to address this issue, aiming to alleviate financial obstacles for approximately 9 million uninsured residents.
A substantial number of Canadians currently go without dental coverage, with one in four individuals in 2022 admitting to avoiding oral health care due to cost concerns. The CDCP, a milestone initiative, will extend coverage for oral health care expenses to those with an annual family income below $90,000, ultimately striving to make such care more affordable and combatting the adverse effects of delayed treatments on both costs and health outcomes.
